REMINDER!! You are cordially invited to an “Evening of Jazz” Benefit Concert hosted by Old Crozet School Arts for OCSA, with renowned jazz vocalist, Stephanie Nakasian, and jazz pianist, Hod O’Brien, on FRIDAY, APRIL 30, at 7:30 p.m. at OCSA. Generation Jazz, an ensemble of high school students from Western Albemarle High School and Albemarle High School, will also perform classic vocal jazz repertoire. (See further details, below.)

OCSA hopes to raise funds at the concert to support start-up costs and to purchase essentials for the school such as easels, music stands, mirrors, and chairs. We also intend to establish a scholarship fund to make classes accessible to all who wish to participate. OCSA is applying for federal tax-exempt, non-profit status this summer.

The concert is open to all; admission is by donation at the door.

Refreshments with baked goods will be for sale during intermission.

Old Crozet School Arts is located at 1408 Crozet Avenue, across from Crozet Elementary School in, you guessed it, CROZET!! Our entrance is at the right rear of the building.

STEPHANIE NAKASIAN AND HOD O’BRIEN tour the globe separately and together singing and playing the Great American Songbook of Gershwin, Arlen, Porter, Rodgers and Hart, Ellington, and others in a swinging, jazz style.They have appeared, often with their 15-yr old daughter Veronica, at festivals, concerts, and venues—from the Telluride Jazz Festival to Lincoln Center to Blues Alley in D.C. to UVa’s Old Cabell Hall—and have numerous recordings. The O’Briens make their home in Greenwood and always provide a very entertaining and lively show.

The INTRODUCTION TO BALLROOM WORKSHOP at Old Crozet School Arts begins TONIGHT --> Tuesday, March 30th from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. You may register before class! Tuition for the seven-week workshop (no class April 6th) is $84 for Adults and $70 for High School Students (+ $5 Registration Fee per person). This workshop will be taught by Edwin & Amberlyn Roa of Zabor Dance. We hope you can join this FUN workshop, offered right here in CROZET!!!
