There are TWO MORE SUMMER WORKSHOPS at Old Crozet School Arts! Both are scheduled for next week, August 2 - 6:

- MID-SUMMER ART WEEK with Ann Friend Clark for rising K - 5th Grade. Mon - Fri, 9:00 - Noon; $200 includes all art supplies. Students will work with a variety of art media including painting, drawing and sculpture.

- PAINTING: BOLD AND FREE with John A. Hancock for high school students and recent HS grads. Mon - Fri, 1:00 - 5:00 pm; $175 + supplies (some provided). Let’s release our creativity with color and design. Let’s use the energy of bold imagery to excite our next painting. We will, of course, find out about some techniques and even some of painting’s “rules” ...but we will go WAY beyond those limitations and look for strategies to make our images really exciting and new.

John A. Hancock's DRAWING, ON THE EDGE has been rescheduled for a shorter session next week. The workshop will meet Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday, July 20-21-22 from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at Old Crozet School Arts; tuition is $90 (most supplies provided). This workshop is for high school students (and recent grads) interested in art (both novice and experienced).

Description: A drawing course that is about going beyond our regular limitations, pushing drawing up to and, maybe, beyond the edge. We will expand the process, experiment with materials, formats, and size so we can surprise ourselves!

This workshop offers a fantastic opportunity to explore drawing with John A. Hancock who, besides being an artist and college art professor, has 20 years' experience working with high school students. From 1999 to 2007, he directed the art program for North Carolina Governor’s School East, continues to serve as the head art judge for the NC Governor’s schools and is a national judge for AP art.

Mid-Summer's Greetings!

There are only FOUR more workshop opportunities for children and teens at Old Crozet School Arts this summer! We encourage you to SEIZE this chance to round out your/your child's summer with a fun, engaging, and enriching week of art!! Please note the expanded age groups and some time/date changes (see below).

- July 19 - 23: MID-SUMMER ART WEEK for 4th - 8th Graders (expanded age group) with Ann Friend Clark. Students will work with cartooning, illustration and Chinese Brush painting. New time: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm. Tuition: $200 (includes all supplies).

- DRAWING, ON THE EDGE for high school students (and recent grads) with John A. Hancock --> POSTPONED to the week of July 19th; workshop will meet for three or four days. A drawing course that is about going beyond our regular limitations, pushing drawing up to and, maybe, beyond the edge.
